Medline is proposing to build a distribution center at 2100 Industrial Park Road in Hammond. This webpage includes the city’s public meeting schedule and related items that are under consideration or presented at those meetings. Please refer to this webpage for the most current information. Public Meetings

All meetings take place in the Hammond City Council Chambers at 312 East Charles Street unless noted otherwise.

 

October 8 – Planning & Zoning, 5:00pm

The commission held a public hearing and voted to recommend rezoning 41 acres related to the Medline project with conditions.

 

October 19 – City Council, 5:30pm, Kenney Center, 601 West Coleman Avenue

The council hosted a special meeting for the public to voice their opinions of the proposed Medline project. Medline presented information at the beginning of the meeting and answered questions. No votes were taken at this meeting.

 

November 5 – Planning & Zoning, 5:00pm

The commission held a public hearing and voted to recommend annexation of 17 acres related to the Medline project. The commission also held a public hearing and voted to approve a conceptual site plan (dated 10/30/2020) for the project.

 

November 16 – Planning & Zoning, 5:00pm

The commission held a public hearing and voted to recommend rezoning of 41 acres with conditions related to the Medline project.

 

November 23 – City Council, 5:30pm (please note this is a council meeting on Monday)

The council approved to introduce an ordinance about the rezoning of 41 acres.

 

December 8 – City Council, 5:30pm

The council will have a public hearing on the proposed ordinance about the rezoning of 41 acres. After the public hearing, the council may vote on the proposed ordinance. The meeting agenda will be posted when it is available.

 

December 10 – Planning & Zoning, 5:00pm

The commission may have a public hearing and vote to approve/reject a final site plan for the Medline project if there have been changes to the site plan since their November 5 meeting. The meeting agenda and specific items will be posted when they are available.
