JOB SUMMARY
The City Planner works in directing the activities of the Planning and Zoning Commission. Work involves the formulation,
modification, and improvement of master and subsidiary plans for the development of the city and presenting these
recommendations to the planning commission. The City Planner serves as adviser to City agencies on questions relating to
planning, zoning, capital improvements, grants, and related matters. Supervision is excercised over professional and
technical personnel engaged in developing proposed plans, conducting research, writing reports, writing grants, and
related activities. Work is performed with broad technical discretion. Must meet City bonding requirements.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of the advanced principles and practices of City planning. Knowledge of economics, demography, municipal
finance, geography and sociology as they apply to city planning. Knowledge of current literature and recent developments
in the field of city planning. Knowledge of the principles and practices of architecture, landscape architecture and
civil engineering as they relate to planning and subdivision design and control. Ability to lay out, supervise, and
perform technical research on economic, sociological, and planning problems. Ability to interpret and analyze technical
and statistical information and to prepare technical oral and written reports. Ability to establish and maintain
effective working relationships with employees, officials, other agencies, and the general public.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree with extensive experience in Urban Planning, which includes administrative and supervisory experience.
Experience should include having worked in concert with a large number of private and governmental agencies in developing
and effecting a planning program;
OR any equivalent combination of training and experience.
CERTIFICATIONS AND/OR LICENSES
Possess a valid Louisiana Driver's License with a good driving record.
AICP Certification preferred.

JOB SUMMARY
The Sports Assistant will assist the Programs Coordinator with all sports related programs.
Promote, schedule, and assist with all sport programs.
Meet with sports programs participants as needed.
Reports all broken or missing equipment, and all problems/concerns to the Program Director.
Performs such other duties as assisnged by Recreation Administration.
Supervise the Facilities and/or parks.
Check in and out the playground equipment/facilities equipment.
Set up and assist in running of games/programs/sports.
Monitors and maintains the cleanliness of the facilities and/or parks.
Report any standard maintenance and any simple repairs needed to the facilities and/or parks to the Programs
Coordinator.
Responsible for making decisions based on established policies and procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A bachelor's degree in recreation, physical education, business administration or public administration from an accredited
college or university OR
High school diploma or equivalence, and at least three (3) years experience in responsible recreation or parks management
positions OR
Any combination of experience and training which would provide the level of knowledge, skills, and ability required.
