These guidelines are available to help you in determining what types of changes or signs are appropriate within the historic district.  They are based on the Secretary of Interior Standards and used by the Historic Commission when reviewing applications for Certificates of Appropriateness which are needed in order to obtain a building permit from the city.  Our staff and commission members are available to answer any questions you may have.
